I took this photo at a labyrinth in Lucknow, India when I was finding my way back to the entrance gate. I didn't hire any guide and was on my own to figure out th way, this allowed me to spend some more time in the labyrinth and explore it.Time
I clicked this image on 3 March 2016, It was a hot and sunny day with almost 43 degrees. Well this was also the right time to take a shot as the harsh light entered the labyrinth and I noticed itLighting
I wasn't alone in the labyrinth and there were people constantly moving around so I had to wait for a while to let eveyone go and take a shot before someone appears again. I even asked some to wait for sometime, all of them politely agreed. That's how I took 5-6 shots from differnt angles and finalized this oneEquipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5100 with 18-55 kit lens which I mostly carry and consider one of the best cheap lense. It is not as good as prime lens but does the job pretty good and afterall these high end equipments doesn't matter to some extend if you can be creative. I didn't had tripod that day so i managed somehow by folding strap of camera and placing half body of the floor and half on strap to provide it a 45 degree angle. I had a tilting screen in my camera which helped me a lot while taking this shotInspiration
I didn't plan to take shots that day but I carriee my camera anyway and left other equipments at home, but when I entered the labyrinth it was literally breathtaking. Endless paths but one exit and you have to choose the right one, that was awsome so I changed my mind and pulled my camera out of the bagEditing
I have a habit of correcting white balance in camera, Ai always take some test shots with different white balance settings so I don't have to waste my time in post processing. I don't hate post processing but I believe that you should always try your best settings with camera and if needed then go for post processing. I mostly shoot my pictures in raw format and a slightly dark, Once I clicked this photo i only enhanced the contrast a little bit and the photo was ready to share.In my camera bag
I am not a fan of big lenses and always try to cover every range with minimum weight on my shoulders, so I carry a kit lens 18-55 3.5, a 50mm 1.8 prime lens which is my favorite and a 55-300 4.5, which provides me enough wide and zoom range in low cost. One thing i never forget is a wireless camera flash which is your best friend if you don't have favorable lighting condition, even if you have then also their is plenty of room for experimentation with lighting or to change a light a source or to even blend it with natural lighting.Feedback
When taking this shot I figured that not only the blue and golden hours are good for photography but you can take good shots in harsh lighting too. It depends on your subject and what you are trying to achieve so don't get disheartened if you encounter a dull or a very harsh light. Make the most out of it and keep clicking
