Behind The Lens

Location

It's shot outside on a early summer evening. I was playing with a new lens taking pictures of the deer on our property & my girlfriend happened to be holding this while sitting in the front yard of our secluded mountain home.

Time

A summer evening around 6pm, waiting for deer to make their routine dinnertime visit to our yard.

Lighting

Natural lighting, just had to position myself in a way that the bright lighting worked for me. Nothing that anyone else couldn't do.

Equipment

I shot it with a Sony a77ii, I was playing with a new lens, Sony 70-400G. Playing with the MFD , all handheld.

Inspiration

No inspiration other than testing capabilities of a new lens. Sometimes my best pictures just happen, no planning, no posing, just a moment captured.

Editing

Used lightroom to bump the contrast & put a bit of vignette to it.

In my camera bag

I carry a Hasselblad HV (a99), Sony a77ii, both vertical grips, Zeiss 24-70 2.8, Sigma 50 1.4, Sony 70-200G, Sony 70-400G, Tamron 90 2.5 macro, nd & cpl filters, and a whole lot of batterys because I shoot Sony...

Feedback

Go out and shoot even if the lighting isn't perfect, find a way to make it work. Reposition yourself so the given light works to your favor. Don't let obstacles or opinions of others keep you from doing what you love. Be humble & learn, learn, learn, listen, read, study & experiment...
