Location
This photo was taken in Prague, Czech Republic. A few walking distance from the Charles Bridge, this is known as the John Lennon Wall, a public art landmark in Prague.Time
It was taken one autumn morning in November. I just had an early morning walk around Charles Bridge, at the time where most tourists were still asleep. I then headed to find this wall, which I had quite a challenge to find. And because it was still early in the morning, it was only me at the time I found it, with some few passersby, thus I get to take the opportunity to capture this image.Lighting
Since it was taken in the morning, I actually just made use of the natural lighting from the daylight sun.Equipment
The camera I used is Sony Cybershot DSC HX60VB which is my ultimate travel camera. It is a digital camera but also has manual controls. I like that I can just easily capture images as quickly as I wanted to, but can also fiddle around if I need to.Inspiration
When I went to Prague, it was my first time to do solo-travelling. I did not expect anything much from this trip as I just planned to walk around as I discover places, alleyways, shops and landmarks. I have considered this wall as one of the beautiful discoveries of my experience in Prague, taking time to read each graffiti made by passersby, travelers, fans of The Beatles and other ordinary people. Each message conveyed stories, each word, phrase, sentence, lyrics from any Beatles song bring inspiration. They are all mixed up to create one beautiful piece of public art. And then a young musician started to set-up his guitar, I told myself, there is so much art in what I am seeing right now, visual and performing arts, and although the young man hadn't even started playing yet, there is already a story in him, and I just needed to capture that.Editing
I did not actually have to use any post-processing. It is what it is.In my camera bag
I only have my ever reliable Sony Cybershot DSC HX60VB, it is my travel-zoom camera, and a mini tripod, as I always pack light whenever I am traveling.Feedback
To be honest, I am a newbie, or an enthusiast, when it comes to photography and has never considered myself a professional. I could not actually give any advice about technicalities. I could only say that, it does not matter whatever kind of camera you have, it is how you use it. I normally would just take a general view of the sceneries around me and from there I would focus on whatever catches my eye. Try to look from all different angles and views, in that way, you get to capture and share a new perspective where most people won't get to see or not pay attention with. Play with whatever camera you have until you master the strengths of your equipment. At the end of day, your passion to capture moments will definitely be reflected through your photos.
