Location
This photo was taken at Lake Joy in Carnation, WA.Time
This photo was taken 30 min. Before sunset. I really liked the way the clouds were moving and the light coming through so I shot a long exposure. Was thrilled to see the results on the back of my camera.Lighting
I particularly liked the subtle orange light coming through the clouds.Equipment
Taken with Canon 6D with Canon 16-35mm f4L. I used the Lee Big Stopper for the long exposure.Inspiration
It was a spur of the moment shot. This lake is on my commute home so I always bring my camera with me to work. Lake Joy provides great reflection shots if there is interest in the sky.Editing
I always post process with lightroom. This photo didn't need much work. I did have to increase the warmth to decrease the blue tint the Lee Big Stopper creates. In my camera bag
I always carry Lee .6 and .9 soft grad filters, Lee big stopper, a hoya hd3 polarizer. Oh, a sometimes my camera. (Canon 6D)Feedback
Always have your camera with you. If there is an opportunity get out and take the photo! Don't just say you'll come back later. It might look like a totally different place next time. Take advantage of the beauty nature provides.
