Location
I took this photo in my hometown of Davenport, Iowa. Right in the heart of the Midwest. This is actually the belly of the Centennial Bridge, which overlooks the mighty Mississippi River. This span bridge is an iconic symbol of my community.Time
I took this photo late in the afternoon on a windy spring day. I was driving along the river, and had a completely spontaneous idea I had to shoot from underneath the bridge as opposed to a more typical point of view. So, I parked my car and climbed down the bank of the river to get just the right shot.Lighting
This photo was taken with natural light only.Equipment
This photo was the product of a spur of the moment idea, so I used my iPhone 6. The best camera is the one you have with you :)Inspiration
I like to shoot ordinary objects from unique perspectives and points of view. I think this is a good example of this. There is beauty everywhere; you don't have to go far.Editing
I did a little post processing to bring out the detail and texture. I utilized an app called Snapseed for this.In my camera bag
I have a Canon, which I love. But this photo was captured with my iPhone. Highly technical, sophisticated equipment is wonderful. But, it does not ensure a remarkable photo or convey a story. It is the photographer that does this. With heart and an artistic eye.Feedback
Capture things through a unique lens. Look for interesting perspectives. Look up! Always have a camera with you. Even if it is your mobile device.
