Fantastic photo.....curious though as to why the flags are retired in this manner and not sold to the Scouts? I say this as in the early 80's when I visited Pearl Harbor, I bought an American Flag that had been flown on the USS ARIZONA. I kept this for approx. 20 years and then I gave it to a fellow Aussie sailor whose son was born in Hawaii when he was on an exchange posting.

The flags should have been given to the boy scouts to take home rather than burned. What is respectful about setting fire to the American flag? The act has a very negative connotation these days. Protesters and people who hate America enjoy disrespecting our country's flag this way. Patriots may find this photo disturbing.
