IMG_6522; It was interesting shooting at 7:24PM CST. The sun was down behind the tall buildings and the original image was quite a bit underexposed. But that was a simple fix in Lightroom and resulted in a nice image. Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, Nik Silver Efex Pro 2. ƒ-5.6 53.0 mm 1-500 sec ISO 800.

Steve, I appreciate your kind words and my apologies for not seeing your post until today. Pretty embarrassing, being over 3 years late in joy reply.

My wife was taking water color classes and sometimes I would accompany her. The instructor emphasized that when viewing scenes, to ignore the objects and think instead of shapes (large and small), leading lines, and the range of dark and light, and filling the frame. That advice, along with deciding what object(s) to focus on and simplify the scene has helped improve my photography.
