This is the balcony from which Juliet was supposed to have said (according to William Shakespeare): "Oh Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" This house has actually been attributed to the Capulet family, but whether they had a daughter named Juliet, or Julia in Italian, is unknown. What is known, is that this romantic tragedy was invented by Shakespeare, however the house is authentic. The main characters did not exist. There is also a tomb with her name on it, just to give the legend an appearance of truth, but it is empty....
