The cold and often dark waters off the West Coast of Canada are filled with incredible biodiversity of vibrate marine species. Sea Pens are found on sandy substrates and while they may look like a single organism, they are in fact a colony of polyps growing the working together in specialized roles for the better of the whole. We could take a page of wisdom from the seemingly simple Sea Pen.
