It was shot with Sony A7R, Samyang 14mm f/2.8, a tripod, a kitchen whisk, and a bunch of 000 grade steel wool which you can find in any hardware stores.Inspiration
It was raining lightly outside and I thought it was an ideal environment for lighting up steel wool without setting other things on fire.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom CS6 for all the editing. The RAW shows a lot of whites and the colour was a bit too warm. I have to bring up the contrast and lower the shadow at bit to make it pop. And lower the highlights and the white a bit.In my camera bag
My Sony A7R always sits comfortably in the back of my bag, I have a samyang 14mm f/2.8 for all my landscape, astrophotography, and light painting shoots I have a Canon ef 50mm f/1.4 and a smart adapter to with it. I always like to shoot my subject at close range. It helps me to read and feel the image that I can capture.Feedback
You will need a whisk and a bundle of 000 grade steel wool, and tie up a rope or strings that at your arm length on the handle of the whisk. Set your camera for 30 seconds of exposure, apature at f/8. You can do this at any outdoor environment. But my suggestion is a long and emptied tunnel, beach, river, or lakeside. If you do it in the woods make sure you have something to put away the fire!
