Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken on my mothers front porch on mothers day. We had a fresh rain and the droplets fell perfectly.

Time

This was the early afternoon, right after lunch on the patio. May 8th, 2016

Lighting

The lighting was perfect. Light clouds creating the perfect shadow to illuminate the droplets like little diamonds.

Equipment

This was shot with my day to day camera - a Cannon Rebel XS with my standard 50mm.

Inspiration

I love the way the rain droplets added a different texture to the flower. It caught my eye and I couldnt let it pass.

Editing

Yes! I thought that adding a black and white filter in lightroom brought out the highlights of the flower and the droplet.

In my camera bag

I carry my Cannon Rebel XS everywhere I go. I have my standard 50mm on it always but I also carry my 75-120mm just incase I find myself needing a zoom.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open, letting in all of your surroundings. Even simple things on your own front porch can be inspiring.
