This is what I believe is a Coastal plain cooter or Florida cooter. The Cooter is a larger breed of turtle and this particular one was about nine inches long. I found it in a very swampy rookery east of Naples, Florida. How could anyone resist photographing a turtle posing so perfectly and flanked by mushrooms? March 25, 2016
