Prison can't tame anything and absolutely not when it comes to creativity. Well done

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Kingston Penitentiary. They have recently opened this closed historical location for tours to the public.

Time

The sky was amazing when I took this photo. I just wanted to capture the size of the yard and ended up getting this ominous sky a long with it.

Lighting

I cant say much about lighting because it is all about a look for me when I am shooting black and white.

Equipment

This was shot with my old canon xti with the 55mm kit lens.

Inspiration

This was only one of many pictures I took that day. The look of the limestone bricks that make this penitentiary was and is just amazing. The textures and shadows are simply amazing.

Editing

curves adjustment that was all I needed to make this picture.

In my camera bag

My kit has changed since this photo. I am now shooting a Canon 70d with a 24mm pancake 1:2.8 STM. 50mm 1:1.8 STM. and a 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 STM. I also carry a variety ND Filters and polarizing filters for all my lenses.

Feedback

Its all art! Everyone is different in how or what they shoot. Capture what you like. If you spot something unique take the picture.
