Location
Riverview, New Brunswick, CanadaTime
Evening, early autumn.Lighting
Sun was starting to go down so I made sure to use a tripod, and slow shutter speed.Equipment
Canon 7D, 35mm 1.4 L lens, tripodInspiration
I was looking for change. I had been shooting the same subject for months, (wildlife) and wanted to try something new. A lot of people go to the stretch of road out in the country to test out their vehicles. My boyfriend had just bought this camaro SS, and I had an idea in mind, and he was willing to fullfil my vision.Editing
This was shot in color originally. I changed it later to black and white. Slight changes to the contrast, and levels. In my camera bag
Typically I shoot wildlife, and I never leave the house without my 100-400mm L lens. However, the 35mm 1.4 L canon lense (along with drop in Cokin filters) has a special place in my bag for moments like this.Feedback
Whereas this shot needed to have a slow shutter speed to capture the smoking tires, a tripod is a must. You could also use ND filters during mid day so your image doesn't end up over exposed.
