This iron 3-span Warren truss road bridge is named The Prince Albert Bridge after the visiting Duke of Edinburgh, and was opened on the 17 October 1867. It is one of the two historic bridges that span the flood plains of the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai in New South Wales, Australia. This was Australia's second oldest existing metal truss bridge. The girders were imported from England but the 54 pier cylinders from Fitzroy Iron Metal Works, Mittigong were the Colony's largest iron castings. The original timber approach viaduct, completed about 1869 was relocated and reconstructed in 1896. It was the States largest road bridge until 1932. The bridge and the viaducts carried the Hume Highway traffic for 110yrs.
