Location

This is taken from the sunshine bay jetty in Queenstown nz, and shows the Remarkables mountain range and lake Wakatipu under the milky way

Time

It was taken early evening at the start of winter. Id just bought a new camera to try and capture celestial shots and sat by the lake for an hour snapping away. This was one of the first taken!

Lighting

There was very little light pollution, and I'd hoped the stars would provide lighting enough to show the areas stunning offerings without extras.

sony x5000 with 16-50 lens and cheapest tripod the shop had

Inspiration

I really wanted to capture the milky way over the Remarkables as I knew it would make a stunning picture. The area speaks for itsself in that respect and the lack of light pollution helps tenfold. watch this space for improved versions

Editing

I dont often take a full kit out on missions as I'm quite new to the game but try to take my x5000 with me most everywhere I go

Feedback

Patience. I had to experiment with various settings untill it came up trumps. Find somewhere secluded with little lighting, and take warm clothes and a thermos of coffee.
