Location
This photo was taken as we were doing a little Urban Exploring through a town in Texas.Time
It was late afternoon and we were on our way to a very late lunch. I saw this building and really wanted to check it out. This was in one of the main areas.Lighting
There was a lot of natural light coming in around us as there was holes all over the building and missing spots on the ceiling. It was dark in this room and the natural light only allowed a few feet of light inside it. I used my built in camera flash so I could see what was going on in the back of the room.Equipment
This was shot with my Sony A77ii. I took a few shots without my flash on. But this one particular shot I used my flash. I wanted to try to get as much detailing as I could that was hidden in the back.Inspiration
I was so intrigued by a huge hole in the wall. I stood there staring in the decaying room forever. It appears that the room had been on fire at one point. It was just very interesting and left me in wonder.Editing
I adjusted the lighting slightly in Lightroom but didn't change anything else about it.In my camera bag
I always keep all kinds of cleaning equipment for my camera. Extra batteries, external flash and cover box. I Always have my Sony A77ii with me and a few extra lenses. I also have some extra contracts because you never know where you might be and inspiration may hit you or meet a future client.Feedback
Don't be scared to explore. What you may be looking at may not seem all that attractive or interesting. But there is so much history and story behind this image and many others like it that it makes it such an interesting piece.
