Location
The photo was taken at Moraine Lake, AB, Canada, on my summer road trip of 2015Time
I shot this about an hour before sundown at about 8pm. I'd been waiting for the right moment for at least 2 hoursLighting
This was my 5th visit to the lake in 3 days. The light was perfect every time but I didn't have the reflection. Finally, the wind settled and the reflection appeared just in time for the light to hit the peaks in the background.Equipment
Shot with my only camera and lens - Nikon d800 and the tamron 15-30mm. I also use a benro carbon fibre tripodInspiration
This is one of the most iconic locations in the Rockies. I had to put my mark on itEditing
This is a HDR blend. I shot 3 different exposures all at f22 - It wasn't until about 6 months later I learned shooting at f22 caused diffraction, resulting in un-sharp images on full frame camerasIn my camera bag

Moraine lake is probably one of the most photogenic places on the planet. If you're planning on shooting at sunrise or sunset I'd advise getting there a few hours prior so secure a decent spot where you're happy with your composition.
