Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot on a walk around Entwistle Reservoir in Bolton England. It's more of a lake than a reservoir in a lovely wooded area surrounded by tall trees. It's a 3K walk around and the metal sculpture of a heron stands on the edge of the water. This was one of my early shots when I first got my camera and ventured in to photography.

Time

The shot was taken at approximately 3.00pm on a sunny summers day.

Lighting

No

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon DSLR 1200D, 18-55 lens, hand held and later edited in Lightroom.

Inspiration

I came upon it by chance just out for a walk with my camera. I had never been there before and the heron on the lake was just begging to be pictured!!

Editing

The shot was not taken in RAW as I didnt know what that was at the time. I used Lightroom for later processing.

In my camera bag

I have my Camera, obviously, Canon 1200D, 3 lenses, 55mm, 18-55mm and 70-300mm. The latter I used to shoot the Budapest Grand Prix 2 years ago. Got some great shots of the cars in motion.

Feedback

As an amateur, I think was lucky to get this shot by chance. The shot was taken a few years ago when I was new to photography. Now with more experience, I would say go with what you see and feel in the moment. Different angles, different features, not everyone sees something the same way. Now I mainly focus on street photography and candid shots. We all see something different in a street scene, different features and no shots will ever be the same.
