This image was taken in New Haven Connecticut looking towards the Long Island Sound.

Time

My favorite time, the golden hour or sunset

Lighting

I like to stay as long as possible to try to capture the varying stages of lighting during any sunset. Lighting can change in the blink of an eye

Equipment

Right now I am using a Sony RX 100. For a small compact camera I have been pleasantly surprised at it's capabilities. I did not use a tripod.

Inspiration

I watched and waited until the sky, the lighting and water reflection captured my eye.I saw something magical through the lens as I took this image.

Editing

I use light room to make adjustments based on the particular image. Sometimes I only make very subtle adjustments to keep a naturally enhanced look. That was the case with this image.

In my camera bag

Well currently I travel light. I always have an extra battery and memory card and depending on what I think I will be shooting, I might bring a monopod.

Feedback

Be patient. For a sunset look around you while you are waiting for that moment. Try to stand in a spot where you can shoot from different angles. Try to look at the subtle changes that occur to capture as much as possible.
