Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Central Park in New York City. This was my first trip to New York with a photography meet up group. It was an unseasonably warm October day.

Time

This was taken mid afternoon. We had lunch in the park and did a lot of walking and exploring that day.

Lighting

The natural sunlight and the beautiful reflections in the water caught my eye immediately. No artificial lighting needed to be used at this time of day.

Equipment

I was just starting my photography hobby. The camera I had at the time was the Sony RX100. I did not use a tripod.

Inspiration

I love nature and reflections in water. I saw the different colors and composed the shot to emphasize the natural beauty of this park scene.

Editing

I did minimal post processing using Sony's Capture One

In my camera bag

Now I travel with my Sony A6000 and 2 lenses and an a few different filters. I always have an extra battery and memory card. I also keep an air blower and lens cloth with me.

Feedback

Central Park has so much to offer a photographer at any time of day and time of year. I think early fall would be best if you want to capture similar colors. It might be interesting to go back and shoot the same location during the different seasons.
