Man's best friend, found outside of an abandoned home along the Long Island coast.

A truck driven to the end of the island, burned and abandoned. There are almost a dozen cars just like this in the area.

It's important to get back up, no matter how hard you are knocked down, or how often.

Crater Lake in Oregon.

Late afternoon on an overcast day.

Lighting

The girl in the photo hadn't been to any place like this before and as she stood their in awe of what she saw, I took this image.

Equipment

I shot this on a fuji xe-1 with an 18mm lens.

Inspiration

the beauty in experiencing new things inspired me to capture this image.

Editing

I'm from the analog approach to photography where I frame my image and settings to minimize post processing. Other than a b&w conversion this image is out of camera.

In my camera bag

I generally always have a fuji x camera on me but in the studio or on larger shoots I bring my canon 5d mark iii and elinchrom quadra rx light system. It provides me with an excellent amount of flexibility.

Feedback

Be patient, know your camera, and try to be as prepared as possible for the unexpected. I've had the most success by just keeping my eyes open and avoiding distractions.
