Location
Was covering "The Great Race" car rally that goes from California to Illinois. The cars stopped at the Golden Gate bridge for a chance to picture their cars at the foot of the Golden Gate bridge (Fort Baker), this boat tail 1932 Auburn owned by Chad Caldwell was my favorite shot!Time
We had spent most of the morning at a hotel about a half an hour north of this location, then about 9:30 began driving towards the Golden Gate. It was foggy and drizzy, but as we got closer and closer the fog lifted. The remaining high clouds and bright sun light was perfect for the dozen or so cars we photographed.Lighting
Not really, just got lucky on this one!Equipment
Cannon EOS 50D, Cannon EFS18-55 lens with a Sunpak 58mm Circular Polarizer. No tripod, I like to move around the car and take several different angles in the short time the car is staged there.Inspiration
As editor/publisher of HOT CARS magazine (www.HOTCARSmag.com), I have the pleasure of shooting some of the most beautiful cars on the planet. This 1932 Auburn Boat Tail is one of only four known to still be in existence.Editing
I always take my photos in Photoshop and turn up the clarity and saturation. In my camera bag
I'm currently carrying two cameras, a Cannon and a Nikon. Both cameras have standard & telephoto lens. Back up batteries, extra SD cards, lens cleaner, towel (to ether cover the camera in rain, or wipe the sweat from me on hot days!).Feedback
The best advice is GET OUT THERE! You have to put yourself in the locations to capture great pictures!
