Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a state park I was in. There were a bunch of pretty, tall, flowers and right underneath them, struggling for sun, was this little guy.

Time

It was around noon

Lighting

It was super bright out not a cloud in the sky, but the flowers had been recently watered and there were a bunch of Shadows and light refractions

Equipment

This is actually taken from my phone camera as my camera had just died. It's a note 5 galaxy but I don't know the specifications

Inspiration

When I was younger I remembered a cactus trying to grow on the beach right next to the waves. Before I could be stopped I tore it out to show my parents. This succulent reminded me of that. In shade, being watered, and still thriving. I decided to take a picture this time instead of tearing it out :p

Editing

No processing. I just took a few quick photos of it to show others.

In my camera bag

Normally I have my gopro for water pictures, my cases for it and a tripod. I also carry my Panasonic Lumix DMX-ZS30 and a small tripod for it

Feedback

Sometimes the best photographs are the ones you didn't try hard for. Many times you try to get the perfect light with the right frame speed and so on and so forth. In my experience the ones I like the most are the least planned and spontenous. I decided to go out for a walk and randomly snap something for a reference and to play with my cameras. Within those are always special gems I fell in love with. Don't let the technical stuff rid you of your creativity and spontaneity.
