Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on my first trip to Rome. It was also my first time shooting with the Fuji X-pro1 which I just bought secondhand. The woman was sitting near the trevifountain. This is one of the most crowded places of Rome. I saw the woman sitting in a small alley. She was looking at the tourists and had no idea how beatlful she was sitting.

Time

It was midday in May. So Rome was overcrowded by tourists.

Lighting

I took about tree shots of the woman with different diafragmas.

Equipment

I used a second had Fuji X-pro1 and a 27mm pancake lens.

Inspiration

With al the people around her this woman manage to find a spot to sit, smoke and think for a while. Her white clothing and the old wall made a beautiful contrast!

Editing

I never edit any of my photos. For me the challenge of photography is to find the perfect light and frame at the right moment.

In my camera bag

Only the Fuji-X pro1. I don't have any more camera's or lenses. As a child I started doing some photography with my grandfathers Minolta. But the development of the pictures where to expensive for me. So I decided to sell my old mopet and bought my first digital camera. And I've never regretted it.

Feedback

Look around you. There's always something interesting happening. Most of the people won't notice it but if you do, it can be a golden moment.
