Location
In a wet spring day, I was visiting a nearby natural park. I saw this recently fell dead tree trunk, but already full of new green coming to life.Time
It was early morning when I woke up and got to the action. A wet day, gray sky, good for pictures, bad for timing.Lighting
The colorful image I didn't like it despite all the green in it. I wanted to give it some mysterious halo and some extra contrast from the black and white.Equipment
It was just a Nikon D7000 with a regular 18-105mm lens. Not tripod/flash needed. Just using natural light at the moment.Inspiration
I've always been a friend of taking pictures in the solitude of cemeteries/natural environment were death become life again and the whole circle of life can be found all around you I thought at the moment that this was a great example of it.Editing
I post-processed using Lightroom to get the contrasting monochrome plus some reframe to adjust the edges and center the objective. In my camera bag
I regularly carry my 18-105mm lens, in my bag, I also have a 70-300mm, a 10-50mm, a flash, and a tripod.Feedback
just to get out and try your best. You might take 200 pictures and just one be the one you really like, with more practice you'll get easier to the point.
