Yesterday was my Mom's birthday. She passed away three years ago. I have the small purse that she took to the hospital with her. I keep it next to my bed and whenever I miss her, I take out the items she used touch them remembering her lovingly.

We are so alike. It's weird. I have one of those ID cards taped to a standing file close to my computer, with my Mom's beautiful handwriting on it. This is a beautiful tribute Barb. I totally understand the comfort you receive from actually touching your Mom's things. When we are missing them, especially on these days that we celebrated them when they were alive - for some of us - it is important to do it when they have passed on - probably because they are present in our hearts and not really 'gone' from our lives. Thanks so much for sharing this lovely tribute to the Mom you loved so much.
