Behind The Lens
Location
Tiger Territory at ZSL London Zoo.Time
Late afternoon, once the tigers had woken up and the people had gone home, I was able to get close enough to capture this female tiger looking directly into the lens.Lighting
Natural late afternoon lighting, thankfully no shadows.Equipment
Taken with my Sony Nex-5T and 55-210 lens. I use a rubber lens hood to get better photos through glass.Inspiration
I have always loved tigers, they're probably my favourite subject, and this was taken after a short while of watching, waiting and gaining trust.Editing
A small about of light changes in Photoshop Elements. In my camera bag
Sony Nex-5T and A3000, small zoom, telephoto zoom, 30mm prime, wide angle lens, and 1-2 legacy lenses.Feedback
Be patient, know your subject. Big cats are more active at the start and end of each day, so spending an hour or 2 before a zoo closes with the tigers, will result in more opportunities for a good picture.
