an image i captured of an elephant herd coming to the aid of the matriarch who was suffering from a gastro upset. you can't see her in this photo b-c she's laying down behind the herd but what you do see of the herd gathering around her to for a circle. the Ele in the background is from a neighboring herd. within minutes there were 30 elephants coming over the ridge to her. the upset lasted for an hour or so before she regained her composure and led the herd in a tight formation past our jeep and off across the plains. the following day we found her and she was just fine - thankfully.
