Location
The photo was taken in New Mexico, on the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge near Taos.Time
It was during the blue hour, just after the sunset.Lighting
When post processing the image I wanted to do a couple of things. First Give the viewer a sence of depth andEquipment
The image was taken with a Sony a6300 mirorrless camera, sony 18mm-105mm lens, tripod and remote shutter trigger.Inspiration
Well, the inspiration came from moving to New Mexico. This location is only one of many that I visited in the last year. It was on my "New Mexico photo tour", if you will. I draw my inspiration from looking at images on Google Earth, Google Maps, social media sites and great photographers like Ansel Adams and Trey Ratcliff.Editing
Yes, post processing is fun and I get into it. For this particular image I used 3 raw images. After merging them in Photomatix, I imported them into Lighroom where I made a number of adjustment. I adjusted the exposure, white and black balance, sharpness, temperature, tint, highlights, shadows, vibrance, clarity and saturation. If I'm satisfied with the image my final adjustment is cropping and voila! we have a beautiful image. But more so than not that's not the case. Here I made 2 different versions, with noticeable differences. I then imported them into Photoshop Layers where I will merge them into one final image. In my camera bag
I always carry a tripod and cable release (shutter remote triger) because majority of time I shoot is at sunset where my shutter speed is low. The tripod and cable helps to eliminate camera shake. I always carry 2 lenses; sony 18mm-105mm and 12mm rokinon. This gives me a 12mm--105mm focal range, plenty for landscapes.Feedback
Alot of magic happens in post processing. My advice is to study different post processing techniques by watching tutorials on youturbe. That's where I got my chops!
