Location
This Photo was taken at Brook avenue in the Bronx, New York.Time
It was mid afternoon as i walked the south bronx looking to show the new influx of Mexican culture in the community.Lighting
The day gave the opportunity for a great mood. It was cloudy, the defused sun light, the snow on the floor and the Mexican lady's clothing help show the bitter cold as she worked.Equipment
This was shot on a nikon D7000. I did not have a tripod nor did i use the flash.Inspiration
As Bronxite myself, i have been noticing the emergence of the Mexican culture in the neighborhood for some time now. More importantly i have notice how hard they work and how our community has taken as example their hard work. Not to say the least, but their food and handicrafts sold through out Brook avenue have become new delicatessen and decorations for our homes.Editing
Given the contrast of the day, snow and the subject i already planned to post process as black and white. After some basic post processing, i converted it to black and white and left the rest to your eyes.In my camera bag
i usually carry around with two bodies. a D7000 and a D3100. My glass consist of prime lenses, an 85mm f1.8, 50mm 1.4 and a 35mm 1.8. Two Sb-600 Nikon Speedlights and a neutral density filter. Of course my handi dandy Mefoto tripod.Feedback
When shooting Latino culture it helps to approach as humble as possible. if it is a candid picture make sure to show them after. they will love you for it.
