Behind The Lens

Location

It was a rainy day in my back yard at Castle Rock, Colorado.

Time

Right after the rainfall around 3 pm.

Lighting

The only thing I did was adjust my shadows and light settings just a bit.

Equipment

Believe it or not, most of my photos are taken with my cell phones. This picture was taken with my IPhone 6s.

Inspiration

I've always wanted to to capture rain drops and I was curious how it would turn out.

Editing

The only adjustment was to turn into black and white, adjust the light and shade a little bit and crop out the extra.

In my camera bag

I never leave my house without my cell phone! Why? It's the camera!

Feedback

Most people like to use all the fancy gadgets but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Reach into your creativity and know that you can use what you have available. With a creative eye and some inspiration, one can take a cell phone picture and turn it into something beautiful. Take your time, take many shots, explore angles, textures and shades and then play with your features on the camera. Let nature guide you, let the magic of simple beauty pull you in and capture what it speaks to you.
