Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at SanJacinto Christian Academy's baseball field in Amarillo, Texas. I am a self taught, amateur photographer and getting better every day. I have take pictures of the sporting events that my son plays in. However, I have been taking pictures of others lately. I shoot raw!Time
It was taken mid afternoon while my son was warming up the pitcher, just before the game.Lighting
The sun was shining bright and full in the west which created a shadow effect that I really was drawn to.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D80 with a 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 kit lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
My son was warming up the pitcher right before a game. I noticed the way the sun caused the shadow across his face. I also really liked the colors in the photo.Editing
I added some contrast to the photo in post processing and slightly cropped the image. In my camera bag
I carry in my bag my Nikon D80 with the 70-300 mm kit lens and also an 18-55 kit lens. It's the first DSLR that I have bought and currently all the gear I have. I hope to purchase better gear in the near future.Feedback
Shoot everything. Do not delete in the camera. Look close at everything you've taken on the bigger screen of the computer. Most of the time, the picture I would have deleted ends up being the best shot of the bunch.
