Location
This image was taken outside an abandoned factory building.Time
I remember this shoot took quite a bit of time. We started at about 11 with makeup and hair and ended around 4.Lighting
I originally wanted this to be taken on an overcast day. But I had since changed my mind and decided a sunnier day would also be good for this one so the day came and we went with the weather that was thrown our way.Equipment
I used a handheld nikon 3200 with no flash and I believe a 70 to 200 lens for this one.Inspiration
I always planned to do something with a masquerade theme. I always thought they were beautiful. I wanted to play with the idea of a high fashioned shoot. I really hope to do at least 2 more sessions for this shoot.Editing
I never release photos without post processing. This picture was acctually very dark and contrasty. Very hard to work with, as it turned out. For my skill set, it was too much to edit everything plus, turning this one into black and white was a no brainer once I saw it.In my camera bag
Well now snice I got my 24 to 70 mm nikon lens it doesn't leave my camera. Absolutely beautiful bokeh and wonderful in low light. Also my nikon 3200. Sometimes I bring a flash. I also don't leave home without an extra battery and memory card. I also put a spyder checkr on a tripod and I've been utilizing that for all of my more recent work.Feedback
Absolutely know what poses you have in mind before the shoot. If you need to clear out debris if yor doing something outside do that. I didn't and I reget it. Also make sure there is no blown out lighting or blown out skies. Fixing that is a pain. Pay attention to shadows. Harsh shadows are impossible to get rid of. Once it's done it's done. And bring water for yourself and your model if it's a hot day.
