Stunning model, and really eye-catching contrasts between the light and dark areas of the photo!

Location
This photo is taken on an old swimming pool which look like a natural spring because of its earthy appearance and green water.Time
This is my favorite photograph which is taken during the afternoon and the sun is still at its peak. The model is an actress (her name is Juliana Palermo) back in my home country which is the Philippines. She moves effortlessly and every emotions she gave really registers well.Lighting
During this shoot, the sun is at its peak so I searched for place where I can play with the shadows. The pool we found is at the center of an island in the middle of a lake and the lighting is just perfect. There are trees and plants wherein the ray of sun just passes through and controls the light. It was just perfect to shoot with a natural light when it incredibly falls on the subject. It was magical.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, with an f2.8 aperture on a 24-70 mm lens. It was naturally lit.Inspiration
I usually am inspired with the photos I see on instagram and pinterest. During this shoot, it was Kate Moss on my mind, with her photo taken by Mario Testino. I really look up to him along with Richard Avedon and Annie Leibovitz. It helped that my model has the same gaze and strong features like Kate Moss.Editing
I usually do my post processing in Lightroom. It allows me to control the light well. I make sure that I achieve the lighting I want during the shoot so there will not be much editing later. If there are unnecessary things I needed to remove from the shot that's when I turn to Photoshop. In my camera bag
The first camera I bought which is still with me until now is the Canon EOS 40D. It's usually is what I bring to a shoot as well as the Canon 5D. One or two lenses is good enough for me. A wide lens, a portrait lens, and a portable outdoor light is all that I usually pack for a shoot.Feedback
I really believe that in taking good photographs, it is not all about the equipment, but the photographer's skill instead. You need to have a good eye, (which you can achieve through practice), a wide imagination, and a certain taste in photograph. It also helps when you can see beauty beyond what a regular person can. You really just have to push yourself and believe that you can do something extraordinary out of ordinary things.
