Location
This phot was taken in Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Of course the main attraction there is the Alhambra, one of the marvels of the world, but the old city itself is beautiful and full of character. I like to take photos of windows, because I think windows explain the character of people, and this windows in a old building in Granada resembles the character of andalucia´s people. Tradicionalist, full of live and with an aestetical sense.Time
Afternoon, in the old part of the city, very near to the Alhambra in march. There is a lot of sun in Andalucia, and the afternoon is the best moment to take photos. And in summer you can get there over 40º, so is better to vitist it before.Lighting
I avoid direct light, to get more of wall texture and tried to maximize shadows. I wanted to center in texture and details.Equipment
Camera Sony A99, lens the venerable Minolta 28-135 "secret handshake"Inspiration
I usually take photos of windows when I visit any old city. I have a lot here in Viewbug. As I said before, I think windows explain the character of people, from the powerfull windows in stone palaces to humble wood windows in small country towns. Windows are an open way to the spirit of people living there.Editing
Correction of detalis and light, mainlyIn my camera bag
Sony a99 camera, lenses: 28-135, 24-70. 12-24 and a 70-210 to cover all situations. Sometimes a fisheye or a macro if I think I will need it. Generaly I dont use tripos, or perhaps a small one only. And no flash too. I prefer natural lighting.Feedback
Move in the city you´re on, look in the old buildings and try to discover the windows that shows you the kind of people live there.
