Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a park in my area. I didn't even knew that name of these trees when I took this picture. The reflection of the Cypress tree made me fall in love with the scenery.

Time

It was on a Saturday afternoon. I had to wait to take the picture since there was a lot of people in the area. Some, like me, were just enjoying the view and the serenity of it all. I took numerous pictures of this one tree. I wanted to have the perfect picture so I could enjoy it after we left. I am glad I did. For when we went back a year later, the water had dried up. I am grateful I took the time to stand there and take this picture.

Lighting

The sun was out and it was very bright. So, I had to take multiple pictures with different settings so I could take the picture you see here.

Equipment

I used my Canon PowerShot S5 IS. The settings I used was an aperture f/3.5, ISO 80, shutter 1/200 and the focal length was 23200/1000 There was no other equipment.

Inspiration

I had never seen a Cyprus tree before. Just looking at it made me smile. It was simply beautiful. I wanted to capture it for down the road. Every time I look at it I do smile. The weather was not too cold and not too hot. There were a lot of people in the area. Kids were laughing and people were just happy. I wanted to always remember that moment.

Editing

No, I did not.

In my camera bag

I normally have a variety of lenses that will cover taking a picture up close or far away. I always have cleaning material to make sure my lenses are clean. My camera back is always heavy but I don't want to forget anything. I will have at lease three batteries and a charger so I don't run out. I will have batteries for my flash in case it is needed. You will find a number of SD cards so I never have to worry about space. And while I don't use my tripod often it will be nearby just in case.

Feedback

Patience. There were a lot people in the area and I had set up and wait until I could take this shot. I had to make sure my settings were correct for the sun was bright and I didn't want sunburst in the frames. Take as many pictures of it as you can just due to the slight wind that was around us.
