Behind The Lens
Location
Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs Florida.Time
Taken while waiting for a sunset that didn't materialize.Lighting
Just natural daylight on a very cloudy, overcast late afternoon.Equipment
This particular scene was enhanced by using a Sony A 6000 Mirrorless camera converted to infrared on a tripod. The camera sees things as they are but are outside the range of the human eye. Colors, textures, grass, leaves plants and foliage as well as human skin, and other objects will reflect IR light in different, unique and interesting ways.Inspiration
I'm always drawn to nature scenes and the tree growing in the sparse soil amid the rocks is I think what caught my eye. Intuitively I also knew that infrared would heighten that feeling.Editing

I usually have a Nikon D7000 with 3 lens, but because the mirrorless Sony camera is so lightweight it is always with me as well. The Sony A6000 would have come with a kit lens but I was worried about hot spots that could occur with it so I upgraded to an 18 to 55 lensFeedback
If you intend to try infrared photography I would do some research about the cameras and equipment available for that pursuit. Then just trust your intuition and compose as you would for any other photo. The fun part for me is both in taking the shot then making the transition from a nature shot to something more artistic.
