Location
This was taken just south of Brisbane Australia. Very docile animals that don't move much. I waited 2 hours to get this shot. I took other shots but the Koala yawning was the best of the bunch. It took great patience which paid off. I am a self taught photographer, been told time and again that I have a natural talent. This coming from top photographers.Time
If I remember correctly it would have been afternoon. It was October 1988.Lighting
Natural light is always the best. I used to invest in good flashes, had some of the best from Metz. Unless inside and even then, I rarely use my flash anymore. This was done with film camera. Now with digital cameras doing bracketing we are getting amazing results with no flash. Natural light is always more authentic.Equipment
At the time I was using a Pentax SF1 35mm film camera. Yes I did use a tripod. Honestly I had several lenses and I don't remember which lense I used. !988 is a long time ago.Inspiration
It was picturesque and I love shooting wildlife. I was on vacation enjoying the surroundings. A trip I will never forget.Editing
No I didn't do any post processing. In my camera bag
Back then Pentax SF1, Metz 45 Flash, tripod, I had a Sigma lense and 2 Pentax lenses. Currently Nikon D810, SB700 Flash, Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8, 14-24mm 2.8, 70 - 200mm 2.8, Manfrotto 55 Tripod, Benro GD3WH 3 way gear drive head. Nikon D5100, 18 - 55mm lense as backup.Feedback
Depending on the wildlife, consider your own safety first, are the animals dangerous or not, requires a great deal of patience. It pays off in the end.
