A Pied Kingfisher is a very lively bird, always fishing, diving into the water for fish. This one has his territory on the mouth of the Lourens river in South Africa, near Cape Town. It uses a telephone cable suspended over the river as its lookout point and when it has homed in on a fish, it will dive down into the water to retrieve it.
