The Saguaro Cactus Flowers only bloom for less then twenty four hours.They open at night and remain during the next day. In such a short time period they have to attract an animal to be pollinated. They are found near the tops of the stems and arms of the cactus. They are white and about 3 inches in diameter. They emit a strong smell kind of like watermelon. The flower bloom is Arizona's state flower.
