Location
I captured these 'Desert Spiny Lizards' in my garden in Arizona. They had climbed to the top of the bush they live under to enjoy the morning and gain warmth from the sun. I had tried several times to capture them but every time I got my camera out to they quickly disappeared. In the end, as so often is the case in nature photography, my patience paid off and they performed this perfect, funny pose for me!Time
It was taken in the morning 8:37 am in May.Lighting
It was very bright sunshine so not necessary the best light for capturing a macro shot, but I still wanted to capture their behavior.Equipment
This is a hand held shot using my Pentax camera using Sigma lens 18-300 mm. Camera setting ISO-400, F/9, 1/1000 sec.Inspiration
I have always loved watching and photographing wildlife in their natural habitat. These lizards are so timid and shy but by remaining quite and patient I was able to capture them.Editing
Post-processing was done using Adobe Photoshop. In my camera bag
I try and keep my camera bag as light as possible. Usually with my trusted Pentax with a couple of lenses Pentax 18-135 mm and a Sigma 18-300 mm. A couple of spare batteries and SD cards, plus camera & lens cleaning equipment.Feedback
By watching the animals and learning their habits you will eventually learn, with patience how to capture them. Be aware of weather and your environment light and conditions. Most of all, enjoy what you are trying to create.
