Location
This photo was taken along the Tamer River in Northern Tasmania Australia. It is one of my Favorite places to photograph..Time
I had been planing this shot for about a week or so and was waiting for the sky to be just right, the shot was taken Sunday, 22 May 2016 5:27 PMLighting
with the sun setting behind the structure the natural light was rather warm, also having the light behind the subject made it rather difficult to bring out the details in the front if the building. not having any other light than the natural light i had to add light in post to bring out the detailsEquipment
this was shot with the Canon 70D what the Sigma 10mm-20mm f/4 - f/5.6 , variable ND filter, remote trigger and a cheep pro master tripod.Inspiration
I have taken my inspiration from an other Australian photographer that use light in a similar way and have developed my own unique style from that. combining HDR and long exposure and some post work.Editing
being landscape there is always post work to be done it is rare the you get such a vibrant image straight out of the camera, first off i started by combing four long exposure images in HDR pro then once the photos were stacked i used brushes and radial filters to reproduce light and highlight the parts of the image that i felt needed more light. well that's the basics of what was done to this image i could go on for ever and explain all the micro details, there is about two hours of post work in total in this photo. In my camera bag
In my bag i carry my Canon 70D attach to that at all time is a tamron 18-270 super zoom its a great all round lens and having it on the camera in the bag means that i can grab it out and start shooting, also i carry canon 18-55 , the nifty 50 , sigma 10-20 that this image was taken with, a stack if filters you can never have enough filters remote shutter button, spare batteries there's nothing worse than a flat camera battery and my tripod swinging off the side.Feedback
slow down take your time you cant rush in take a photo and rush off again you need to walk around look at where the light is on your subject and find the best angle lay on the ground if you have to. it may take hundreds of shots to get that one that your after. just get out there and take photos.
