This photo was taken at Wild Wood Park outside of Mankato, Minnesota.Time
I took this beautiful photo in the afternoon. It was a hot, overcast Minnesota summer day and I felt like going on an adventure to Wild Wood Park.Lighting
I wanted the "light at the end of the tunnel" feeling. This suspension bridge had a sort of mysterious feeling to it because it was in the middle of the woods and I wanted to create that in some sort of way.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3200 with the 18mm-55mm lens. I didn't use a tripod and the flash didn't fire.Inspiration
I usually take nature photos, but there was something about this bridge that was cool. It's a man made feature in the middle of nature which I thought was interesting.Editing
I made the photo black and white and then made the shadows darker, so that it gave the viewer a more mysterious feeling. In my camera bag
I always have my 18mm-55mm lens, along with my 55mm-200mm lens. I also carry a spare battery for when I'm on a long photography adventure. Other than that I like to keep a light load when I take photos. Hopefully some day I can add a few more lenses to my collection.Feedback
Bridges have always interested me, especially ones like this one where they're out in the middle of the woods. Advice I would give to others trying to capture a photo like this would be to take many shots of the bridge at different angles, because you never know which one will look the best. Also when you edit, try different looks that give the photo emotion. Black and white is a timeless look and it gives this photo a mysterious emotion.
