Behind The Lens

Location

From Wikipedia: The Tünel (English: Tunnel) (Official Designation: F2) is an historical underground funicular line in Istanbul, Turkey, located at the northern shore of the Golden Horn. It has two stations, connecting the quarters of Karaköy and Beyo?lu. Its tunnel goes uphill from close to sea level and is about 573 metres (1,880 feet) long. Inaugurated on January 17, 1875, the Tünel is the second-oldest extant subterranean urban rail line in the world, after the London Underground (1863). It is thus the oldest surviving underground urban rail line in continental Europe, as the older 1862 funicular line in Lyon has been converted into an underground road tunnel.

Time

indoor shot, time is irrelevant

Lighting

used the lighting that was already there

Equipment

Camera: NIKON D3200 Aperture: 53/10 ISO: 4500 Shutter Speed: 10/300 Focal Length: 400/10 Hand-held, no flash, no lighting other than what's already in the tunnel.

Inspiration

i had just exited the funicular at the upper station (Tünel meydan? in Beyo?lu) and just decided to see how far i could lean the camera out in front of the train without falling onto the tracks. Notice the split at the halfway point in the tracks where the two trains pass each other (one headed uphill and one headed downhill).

Editing

slightly cropped just to straighten it out. otherwise it is what i shot
