The is the photograph of Mt. Fitz Roy, an impressive but extremely shy mountain. To see this view, we had to hike up a steep trail before sunrise four times, only to be sent back with disappointment because of weather conditions. To make matters worse, I had lost my headlights on the very first day of the trip. Unable to find a replacement in the village of El Chalten, I had no choice but to rely on the headlights of fellow hikers. Trust me, that was no fun. It was a bad idea and I would not encourage anyone to do what I did. Lesson learned. On our final day in Argentina, we made our last attempt to hike up for views of Mt. Fitz Roy, and voilà there it was surrounded with the most stunning autumn foliage in the world.
