This photo was taken at Rockwood Park in Saint John, New Brunswick,Canada. They have a number of walking trails and several bird and squirrel feeders. It is a great place to get photos!Time
My sister-in-law and I were out on a Saturday afternoon shooting the birds and squirrels (with cameras of course!) when this little fellow stuck his head out of the feeder. How could I resist?Lighting
The lighting was great. A sunny day with a bit of shade from the leaves above.Equipment
This photo was shot with a Nikon Coolpix P100.Inspiration
I love squirrels. They are so cute and very entertaining. It takes patience to get a good shot - but well worth the wait.Editing
This is straight from the camera. No post-processing.In my camera bag
These days I have 3 cameras that I usually have with me. My original digital - a Nikon Coolpix P100. It is a great little camera for all types of photography. When my brother passed away I inherited his Canon D3100. My first DSLR. Loved it. Back in the film days I had a Yashika with a 75-300 zoom. I kept watching prices for a zoom for the D3100 but nothing came up. When I saw the Canon Rebel T7 on sale with a 55mm and a 75-300mm zoom - I was all over it.Feedback
The best advice I can give for critter captures is to have patience and keep your camera ready. They don't exactly pose for you. You need to be ready. Don't be afraid to keep shooting. You may catch that one great shot. You can always delete the others.
