You can see pinkish coloured solar prominences around the Moon..
The image was taken during the total solar eclipse on March 29 2006 from Side in Turkey.
It isn't really possible to describe the awe inspiring majesty of this stunning astronomical event. It was the second total eclipse that I've seen but the first one in Penzance in 1999 was clouded out and a great disappointment.
