I was asked to photograph behind the scene images for a pinup fitness calendar. I came to set having what seemed like infinite restrictions handed down by the primary photographer - but I held my own and discovered far more creative ways to get some beautiful images.

Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at a local Denver studio. I was hired to get the behind the scenes shots for a pin-up calendar being created to raise money for a veteran non-profit.Time
I believe this was during mid-day in front of a frosted window.Lighting
As a second/behind the scenes shooter, I always strive to use the natural light available so as not to disturb the scene at hand. The frosted window light was gorgeous on the model but my role was to show the scene at hand. I found a model mirror with wonderful lightbulbs to play with that helped embody what was going on.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III and a 70-200 2.8 lens.Inspiration
Not only do I love finding creative ways to frame images but I absolutely LOVE playing with reflections. When the main photographer pulled the model aside for some more sexy shots I knew the make-up stand mirror would line up perfectly. In fact I had been waiting all day for someone to cross the path so I could play with reflections.Editing
Just the basic post-processing. I come from a photojournalistic background and tend to put my images through a minimal editing process. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark III, 16-35 2.8, 24-105 4.0, 85 1.2, and 70-200 2.8.Feedback
Have fun playing!!! If something intrigues you but you can't quite figure it out, keep playing! Practice makes perfect and eventually you'll have a eureka moment that will make you love your image even more!
