Location
This photo was taken in stilbaai. I'm a self taught photographer that mostly do shoots of children. My camera generally travels everywhere with me even at a risk of getting sand into it. This is a photo of my baby sister. My mom and her wife adopted her when she was 3 months old. She will be turning 3 soon.Time
We went on a family holiday and on this particular day we got up early to go to one of our favourite beaches. I remember the kids being so excited. Just before this picture was taken my mom was playing with mischa in the sea water amongst the shallow waves. She brought her back k to the umbrella to get some shade and mischa was playing in the sand with one of the other kids. She kept laughing and smiling so I decided to take some photo's and by pure luck I caught this moment at exactly the right time.Lighting
The lighting was absolutely natural in open day and sunlight.Equipment
Canon D100 camera with a normal 18-55 mm lens. No flashInspiration
I love taking in the moment photo's cause I believe that is when you catch the true beauty and true emotion of that moment.Editing
I just did some basic editing by bringing out a little contrast and adjusting the light angles of the photo a bit. I also cropped the photo to emphasize her expression. In my camera bag
All I have is my Canon D100 with its standard 18-55 mm lens. I do all my work with this standard camera and lens.Feedback
Take as many photo's as you can. Play with your camera and editing programs. Enjoy what you do. And it takes a lot of trial and error especially with in the moment photography but eventually you will know when to be in the right place at the right time.
